Dylan's many visitors

Dylan's been a very popular boy in his four short weeks!

First, my mom (Dylan's Nonna) came to visit the week after he was born.  Besides being an enormous help to me -- taking Dylan from me and ordering me to sleep (and I wasn't about to disobey my mom!), cooking delicious meals, keeping our house from looking like it had been hit by a tornado, and in general keeping me company -- she got to spend lots of quality time with her grandson.  We took walks on the beach, trips to Target to buy some much-needed newborn clothes (why did I only stock up on larger sizes??), went to a couple lunches out, but mainly hung around home cuddling with Dylan.  We had a great time!

On Mother's Day, my mom left in the morning and my sister (Dylan's Aunt Mary) arrived that evening.  And we also had a wonderful time!  Mary took over where my mom had left off and kept me sane and the house from falling apart.  We also got in some beach walks and errands, but again spent most of our time at home :)  On Thursday, my brother-in-law (Dylan's Uncle Matt) arrived.  We celebrated his birthday that night by grilling out and he got some serious Dylan-bonding the next morning when Mary and I dropped Dylan in his lap and took off to get our hair done.  Thanks, Uncle Matt!  During her visit, Mary took some awesome pictures of Dylan that rivaled the professional ones that we had taken the week before.  To see a few, check out her blog: http://mattandmaryjacobs.blogspot.com/2012/05/trading-places.html (you'll also see pictures of my adorable niece, Alice!).

I can't thank my mom and Mary enough for all of their help while they were here!

Besides family, Dylan's been entertaining a revolving door of other guests.  Several friends have stopped by the house to make his acquaintance.  And he met several others a couple weekends ago during an Anderson alumni event.  Jason and I strolled him to the bar down the street where many of our former classmates had gathered and Jason waited outside with Dylan as I ran in to say hi to people.  Silly of me to think they'd be interested in seeing me!  Everyone's first question when I greeted them with "Hi!  I haven't seen you in so long!" was "Where's Dylan?"  And I went outside a couple minutes later to see this...

I guess I know where I stand now!

Funny faces

Firsts

Dylan has experienced a lot of firsts in his two weeks...

His first bath.

His first time meeting his Nonna.

His first time at the pier.

His first lunch at a restaurant.

His first lunch in the backyard.

His first passport photo session.

He's had an exhausting couple of weeks!

Beach days

Dylan has been taking advantage of his beachside digs, and has already been on several walks on the Strand...unfortunately, as you can see, he hasn't been that interested in the view! :)
