Ben has finally started talking! After months of only saying "Up!"his vocabulary has exploded. One thing that I don't want to forget: many times a day, he'll yell "Mama!!" until I respond. And then when I do, he just says "Uhm...." It's hysterical. Doesn't sound funny when I write it out, but trust me, it is.

Star of the Week

In Ms. Mandrapa's Kindergarten class, each student signs up for a week during the school year to be Star of the Week. The Star makes a poster about him/herself and presents it to the class. Dylan chose to go first and crushed it! He picked out his pictures, made the poster (with help on the writing) and his teacher said that he presented it so well. He spoke clearly and enthusiastically, and then asked for and took questions from the class. So proud of him!

First Day of Kindergarten!!

Dylan's first day of Kindergarten at Crocker Highlands was on August 21st! I can't believe that we have a kindergartener. His teacher is Ms. Mandrapa, and she seems really great. We went to Back to School night last night and saw where he sits for morning circle (on the letter "Z" on the rug on the floor), several of his masterpieces hanging up, his cubby, and his Book Box. It's been a bit of a tough transition, but I hope he settles in soon. After the first and second day, he asked me if he was now done with Kindergarten - as if going for a day or two checked it off his life list! I didn't have the heart to tell him he has about 16 years to go!

Myrtle Beach

We just got back from a wonderful trip back east. First we went to Myrtle Beach, for the annual Wiethe Family vacation. It's always so much fun to see family. We miss everyone already!
