Lina's baptism

Nonna sent me some pictures of Lina's baptism day (I was running around and didn't get any on my camera!). It was a wonderful day.

The Mannes drove in from Cleveland for the weekend -- it was so great to see them! Dylan has been talking about his cousins ever since :)

Nonna had a little party before the ceremony and then we walked over to Blessed Sacrament for the ceremony. Father D'Silva, who I know from my old BS days, performed the ceremony. My good friend, Michael Anne, is Lina's godmother and my godson, Danny, is her godfather. Danny was at an internship program in Barcelona at the time, so his dad, Noe, stood in for him. Lina looked beautiful in the gown that my mom had made out of her wedding dress -- so cool, right? It was a such a special day!

Start of summer

It turns out that having two kids makes it much harder to find time to update this blog! And now that I have a minute when both are (somehow) sleeping at the same time, I can't remember all the great stuff that I wanted to document! So I'll just throw a few thoughts out at random.

Dylan is talking up a storm. He even said his first sentence last night (with a verb and everything)! Jason gave him some blueberries after dinner and he said "Mmm, these are good!" Next thing we know, he'll be reciting the Gettysburg Address.

He's very particular about taking shoes off when entering the house and has become obsessed with Jason taking his shoes off. Whenever he comes home from work -- often before he's even entered the front door yet -- Dylan announces "Dada! Shoes off!"

Lina is growing so quickly! She's definitely becoming feistier and more opinionated too :) She loves when you sing to her and loves when you "fly" her over your head. She's still giving us a REALLY hard time when she's in the car, but I'm hoping that passes soon! And Dylan has been a trooper during the very loud car rides. Yesterday, I looked back there as Lina was screaming her head off and he was holding her hand (cue heart melting). She's been rolling from her tummy to her back for a while and is this close to going the other way. And she's been smiling up a storm. So sweet.

We took an awesome trip to DC last week. I flew out with the kids (it was thankfully pretty uneventful, as I had some very nice people sitting around me) and we spent the week with Nonna. We visited her at work, went to the park, did some gardening, had lots of visitors. Then Jason flew in on Friday, and the Mannes drove in that night. It was a full house and so fun! Lina was baptized at Blessed Sacrament the next day and Jason and I went to my college reunion that night. It was a full weekend! I don't have any baptism pictures right now, but will put some up when I get them.

And Lina is awake...so I'll just leave you with a whole bunch of pictures!

Lina is FOUR months old!
