Leaps and bounds

Both Dylan and Lina have changed so much over the last few weeks! Lina started smiling, and it melts our hearts every time she does -- it's so adorable. And Dylan has been talking up a storm. Just in the past two weeks, he's added SO many new words to his vocabulary. It surprises us every day and is awesome to watch.

Dylan is still so sweet with Lina. He's always asking where she is, hugging her, and recently he started patting her back after she eats because he's seen me burp her. And he seems to be able to communicate with her much better than we can. When she's fussy, I'll usually try to feed her -- and Dylan will usually either say "milk" or "done" when I do, indicating whether he thinks she needs to be fed or she doesn't want any. And he's almost always right! It's eerie. And the other night, she was being really fussy. Nothing that Jason or I did consoled her. Dylan disappeared for a few minutes and next thing we know, he's dragging her playmat up the stairs. We finally figured out that his goal was to bring the playmat to Lina so that he could turn on the (super annoying) music that is attached to it. And as soon as he did, she quieted down. Hopefully they're always so in tune with each other!

A couple of Dylan's new words include names. And since he still can't pronounce all letters yet, we have some funny family nicknames. For example, he doesn't quite have his Ls down yet. So he calls Lina "Ahnnn-na" (when he's not calling her "baby"). He calls himself "Din." And you can imagine what he calls Alice (just drop the "L"). And Joanna is "Dodo," a nickname that I might keep using for a while to come :)

Lina is such a sweet baby, but is also very loud! She's always grunting, cooing, babbling. It's very cute and funny (just not at 3am!).

As you can see, we're having fun!
