Fall

We're getting back into the swing of the (forest) school year...despite the 90 degree weather. Lina is talking much more, and becoming very opinionated. Dylan has grown so much just since the summer - it's definitely time for me to buy him some new clothes! And the two of them are playing much more together. I can't say that it's all peaceful play, but on occasion it is!

Dylan has been saying some adorable things lately. He's very liberal with "I love you" right now, which is so sweet...except when he says it right after doing something he knows he shouldn't be. Often before bed, he'll say to me or Jason, "I love you. I had a great time with you" :) He's also become convinced that the pains in his legs (which I think are growing pains) are due to the "baby in his leg." I told him once that my back hurt because there's a baby in my belly, and he now often talks about the baby in his leg. He'll talk about it kicking, or say "My baby is starting to get bigger, like your baby," or "Cookies help my baby in my leg feel better." Which then gets Lina saying "baby" while pointing to her leg. It's a little strange :)

And Lina is asserting her independence. She's on a self-directed potty training mission - often taking her pants and diaper off and using the potty on her own (usually nothing actually happens, but on occasion it does). She insists on dressing herself (which is new to us since Dylan still won't dress himself!) and putting on her own shoes (which she then takes off constantly). She often will stand at the top of the stairs and not come down until both Jason and I hold each one of her hands - it's not enough that just I help her. She's definitely keeping us on our toes, but we wouldn't have it any other way!
